The Prime Note Ensemble has established itself as the first  Filipino a cappella choir in Saudi Arabia, founded by Medard U. Obida in October 2001.  Members enjoy the opportunity to rehearse & perform under the professional tutelage of its choirmaster and resident arranger Novem G. Cabios.

Despite the strict social norms of the region, Prime Note still managed to have held performances in the area and had established a very good following in the local community of expatriates.  Concerts were held twice a year to entertain through choral music appreciation, funds from which enables the choir to support individuals and charities in the Philippines.

The desire to sing out of its comfort zone and the dream to be able to measure up with choirs from different countries led to the choir's joining international choral competitions thus, in July 2006, the choir made significant milestones in its brief history:

·   It has de-facto represented its host country, Saudi Arabia in the 4th World Choir Games held in Xiamen, China, joining more than  200 choirs from around the world.

·  They have practically put Saudi Arabia in the World Choir Games map, bringing home a gold diploma & a bronze medal for their performance in the Male Chamber Choir category.

·   Prime Note now owns the distinction of being  the 1st OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) choir from Saudi Arabia (and possibly the world) to have joined and secured a place in an International competition.  That distinction was repeated when the choir joined the same choral competition's 5th edition.

In May 2007, the group participated on invitation, in one of France’s major choral festival in Nancy (Lorraine), the 14th Festival International Chant de Choral.

Tthe 5th World Choir Games in Graz, Austria in 2008, the choir won the Silver Medal in the Male Chamber Choir Category.  It also received the Gold V Certificate and was the Category Winner during the qualifying rounds. On tour in Europe, the choir performed to much acclaim in France, Belgium and Austria.

Prime Note participated in the 2nd California Choral Festival & Competition in June 2009 in San Luis Obispo and continue to have a series of performances in the Bay Area and around SoCal. Through the Law Offices of Atty. Jemela A. Nettles, the choir is currently on a visa enabling them to perform in the USA, renewable annually for a maximum of 5 years.
